I’m trying to divert animations between different models using IK Rig and IK Retargeter implemented from UE5.
I have followed the official tutorial, but the IK Rig and Skeletal Mesh do not work together.
The same is true for the animation in IK Retargeter. It seems as if the bones are not recognized in the first place, but the Skeletal Mesh and Skeleton are selected correctly.
I’m not associated in any way with Rakiz Farook or Uefy, but I just went through this process for IK Retargeting from the UE5 Mannequin to metahuman, and it works; He goes over setting up UE4 Mannequin as well, you may find something useful in that series of videos.
I have tried Uefy as per the video, but the separation between Skeleton and Skeletal Mesh is not resolved.
Only the bones move and the mesh does not follow.
I am wondering if the bones are not being recognized correctly because they are not highlighted white compared to the other skeletons.
Is weight painting usually done in Blender?
yes. open your model up in blender and try editing the pose; if the mesh doesn’t move with the bones, it’s a weight painting/parenting issue; if it does, it’s a different issue that I’m not familiar with
