Hello all;
I have set up an IK Rig and IK Retargeter for a character, let’s call him Bob.
Bob is a VROID character imported through some backflips through blender into Unreal Engine (5.3);
Any Vroid character will have the same bone structure, same number of bones.
(at least for my use for basic animations, not interested in clothes and hair animation)
Now I want to import more characters from this same program.
I duplicated my IK Rig and changed the skeletal mesh, and since they have the exact same bones I didn’t had to do anything else.
I duplicated my IK Retargeter and same as above, I just switched the IK Rig out. Now I can export the animations.
But do I need to duplicate? Are the exported animation dependent on the Ik Rig and IK Retargeter after they have been exported? Because to me it look like I could simply use the same IK Rig for all my Vroid imported characters: I import a character, I go to the IK Rig and swap the skeletal mesh, then on the retargeter and export the animations;
Even further, if the animations are based on that skeleton and they share the same skeleton structure (note: share the same skeleton structure does not mean they share the same skeleton; each imported character has it’s own skeleton file) couldn’t I just use some already exported animations?
Thank you all for your time;
