IK Retargeter giving results of dragging mesh after adding root bone

Hello!

I have done IK Retargeting a handful of times and on a character mesh, I previously retargeted without a root bone and it worked just fine, however, now I want root animations and so I changed the skeleton in blender to import with a root bone. Now when I retarget with this new mesh, It shows incorrect and weird results of some of the mesh dragging and staying static. I have already tried seeing if one of the chains was the problem but even if I disconnect them, the mesh moves in the t-pose but the issue still occurs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
