IK Hit Stop, how to start ?

Hello all,

I’m trying to set up an IK Hit Stop animation system similar to this YouTube, but I can’t figure it out !

Any pointer on where to start ? I managed to do IK punch on the wall, but with a static mesh weapon I can’t do the math to know where my hand should stop. Any guidance would be appreicated !

Trying to realize the same thing. And wanna see if you make any progress. In terms of the weapon problem, there is a solution that a specific bone could be created for the weapon, and it could be used in the ik rig. Then same staff that you do for “punch on the wall”, you just need assigne a hit point to the ik goal of weapon. The problem of this is if you have many different weapon, then a lot of bone would be needed, which is not so…elegent
