I am trying to create a pickup that ignores my maxhealth (default is 100) setting for a period of and then count down from 200 back to maxhealth (100). However I can’t figure out how to override the variable. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Why not make health 200, but when taking health potions, cap it at 100?
Place this in you pickup blueprint. It will cast to the first person character blueprint (or what ever one you want)
If you pickup the special then it changes maxhealth to 200 and adds 100 to your health. other pickups will add whatever value you wish.
Add this to your character blueprint (if that is where your health stuff is)
Create a looping timer with whatever speed you wish the player health to drop and add to eventbeginplay. For the rest just follow the comments on the blueprint. Hope this helps.
