If I scale the mesh 10 times, it seems it moves inside the actor:

I’m using Unreal 5.2.1 and I’m learning it.

I have imported a mesh from Maya with these options:

And then, I’ve added it to an actor:

But if I scale the mesh 10 times, it seems it moves:

If I add that actor into the level, the mesh doesn’t appear where I’ve add the actor.

Is there an internal coordinate system into the actor? or why does this happen?

Thanks.

Hi ViaCognita,

It sounds like the pivot point is not in the center - in Maya, make sure your mesh is placed in the center of your scene.

You can change the Pivot Point in UE as well, but that’s per instance in your level - you can set the pivot on one actor, then duplicate that for where you want it.

Or you can use a tool such as rdMeshTools (on sale atm) to set the meshes pivot point in the mesh itself, so all instances will reflect that.

In Maya, I’ve moved the mesh in the center of the scene and now it works perfectly in Unreal.

Thanks!
