I would like to know why the ARK ModKit I downloaded is an outdated version.

The ARK ModKit I downloaded shows as version 260.1 when launched, and there are numerous missing resources. I have tried re-downloading and verifying files many times, but to no avail. In the Epic library, the version of the ModKit is 361.4, and it is around 350 GB in size.

I’m having this exact same issue. Fresh download, verified everything anyway. It actually did re-download about 121Mb, but still not core things (or what I interpret to be core).

Most notably, I do not have TestMapArea.umap

Every tutorial online says “just run it and you’ll see this map with weird squares” but mine is entirely just a black screen. Looks to me like it’s because this test map is missing. But also tons of other things. So I’m getting errors ALL the time.

I feel like that’s why it’s so freaking slow, too. I know UE4 is slow in general and this dev kit has a lot in it, so it’s slow. But this has to negatively affect it.

Anybody have any resources on where the missing stuff is? And why the downloaded version says 260.1 when the updated version is hypothetically much newer than this?

I confirmed by navigating through windows explorer; these files do not exist. So it’s not about the dev kit needing time to discover assets….the assets are truly missing.
