I want to know if my computer is good enough for installing and using the 'Unreal Engine' application

Hi everyone! My name is Luis, and I would like to know if my computer is good enough for installing and using the ‘Unreal Engine’ application. Here you have the characteristics of my computer:

Mac Book Pro - Retina 13’’
Processor: 2,4GHz Intel Core i5
RAM: 4GB 1600MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel Iris 1536MB
Storage: 19,88 GB free of 120,11GB
Operative System: macOS Sierra

Would it work propperly? Will it overheat something?
Thanks in advance.

UE4 FAQ

What are Unreal Engine 4’s system requirements?

For developing with UE4, we recommend a desktop PC with Windows 7 64-bit or a Mac with Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later, 8 GB RAM and a quad-core Intel or AMD processor, and a DX11 compatible video card. UE4 will run on desktops and laptops below these recommendations, but performance may be limited.

So… it might run, but probably not well. You’re short on RAM, which will lead to crashes. Some versions of the Intel Iris also don’t support DirectX 11, but there’s no way to tell with the information you’ve provided. You’re probably also going to need to free up a fair bit of disk space. My UE4 base directory is 30GB, and I don’t have that much content installed, and a pretty basic starter project will eat another 5GB or so. Overall, I’d definitely look at upgrading.

yes u are short on RAM .The engine may crash or lag .8GB or 16GB RAM is the optimum requirement .plus maybe U get a memory shortage problem if u need to install more than a single engine.U need minimum 30GB free memory space

Thanks for your help !! ;D

Okay, thanks for your help A GUPTA, I’ll look for another computer ;D
