I think I lost my entire map

So, I set up multi user editing on my little server, syncd the project files between the server and the computer that I would be doing most of my work from.

Have worked for over a week building a space station.

Saved often, quit. When I reloaded my map, it’s ALL GONE. BACK TO THE BLANK WHITE TEMPLATE MAP.

I had even saved it a few times on the server computer just to be safe. Even its loading back to a stock template map.

Where the hell did my map go and how do I get it back? I don’t want to have to build it all again from scratch.

I remember watching a video on the unreal YouTube channel that mentioned that all changes in Multi-User Editing Mode were tracked and if lost I could reload a session and recover them, but the video never said HOW to do that.

The cause of the loss was this, so I made a new sky box, put it in my map, and I noticed a yellow popup at the bottom right telling me my map was so big I should enable Streaming, so I turned it on as the editor recommended and EVERYTHING DISAPPEARED. I turned it back off, which reloaded the entire map on the server and the client, and everything was still gone.

Yep. Map is dead. Even restored earlier versions from svn, all those just throw walls of errors and have no objects in them.

Back to the beginning. This time using hasleo backup to do a incremental backup of the map every hour, as it seems I can’t trust the basic SVN system in SyncThing.

Not going to use Multi-User Editing Mode again until it is as reliable and simple as the multilayer map editor in MTA. Currently it’s about as reliable as a Ford Pinto.

And definitely not going to touch that “Streaming” tick box again, as it caused the loss of the entire map.
