Its been over 72 hours after I spend $100 on vbucks and redeemed them on skins. Anyone have an idea on what I have to do? Did i just lose $100 for nothing?

Same here! Been building in Creative mode and UEFN for over 10 days now and have also spent and redeemed the $75+ in-game. Why am I not able to apply for Island Creator / Publishing capabilities yet?
It’s possible that they are denying all applications until they get back to work.

Spending V-Bucks does not grant Island Creator permissions.
To get Island Creator you need to have spent (this might have been updated since then, take this as a grain of salt) 7 days out of the past 30 days in Creative or UEFN.
If it’s just UEFN you want and not the Island Creator, all you need to do is locate to Fortnite on the Epic Games Launcher, click Add-Ons, then find Unreal Editor for Fortnite. All you need to do from there is click it and install.
