I really can't do it anymore

I started using unreal engine last week I started learning the basic’s and I watched so many tutorials and got the idea of everything. only the blueprints I have the idea how it works but idk how to use it I tried and watched soo many videos. Still, I don’t understand. I spent days and nights and i learnt nothing. before I gave up, any small tips will help

It takes longer, one week is not enough.

Keep going, and see where you are after a few months.

Hi,

I’m also a beginner, and still quite “struggling” right now too. But I realize I learn something each day, even if it’s just 1%… It’s still a big Win for me. My suggestion is, do not watch too many tutorials. Just pick 1, and follow along until finish. And just start making something… Even very basic.

From my POV (in order to gain some kind of progress), here are the steps I take:

  1. Watch 1 full tutorial about UE in general. Just to get familiar with the UI and Editor. I watch the Unreal Sensei tutorial. Youtube: Unreal Engine 5 Beginner Tutorial - UE5 Starter Course - YouTube

  2. Watch 1 full tutorial series about Blueprint. This is hard, and TBH I felt still learned less than 1% even after a month… But that’s okay, I will just keep practicing what I learned. Youtube: Learn to Code in Unreal Engine 5 with Blueprints - Full Course - YouTube

  3. Pick a very specific thing you want to do. A very small and specific feature. In my case, I want to learn how to import my character and make it move with keyboard inputs. In that way, I also watch a very specific tutorial just about it. It’s just like a 10-20 mins tutorial. And I learned A LOT in the process.

I’m also still not sure what is my next step, I will just let it flow right now. But I know that I want to make something, it’s been there, in my head this whole time. I just need time and practice.

Hope this helps you even if it’s not much. I’ll see you there
