Hi, the problem is in the title. I have a character model (in this case it’s Twinblast from Paragon). I want to get rid of the glasses in his model. The problem is that the glasses are part of the model, i can’t just remove them. Then I decided to try using an invisible material to put it over the glasses and make them invisible. But even here there was a problem: the glasses have the same material slot as the shirts, so when I apply an invisible material along with the glasses, half of the character’s torso disappears. I found a block that is responsible for displaying the texture of the glasses. Can I somehow edit it to make the glasses invisible? Or is there an easier way to solve my problem? I could remap the material slot in Blender, but I guess it’s too long and tedious to try to select just the points mesh without affecting the others.
Is this the glasses mask?
If so, you can use the red channel to lerp between translucent and opaque.
I can’t see the whole thing there, it might be a bit of a fiddle…
I thought about this afterwards. It’s only going to work if the sunglasses are almost a separate mesh sitting on the nose. If they’re part of the head, then you’ll just get a section of transparent head!
don’t worry about it, everything will work as it should. The problem is that the torso will also disappear, because for some unknown reason it has the same material as the accessories. I guess it’s easier for me to try to assign a separate material to the T-shirt instead of trying to hide the glasses. But then the match in his mouth will disappear, and I wanted to replace it with a cigar … In general, this task turned out to be a little more difficult than I thought. The picture shows what happens if I just put an invisible material in place of what was the default.
