I installed Unreal engine 5 for the first time, and it was around 19gb

I installed Unreal engine 5 for the first time, and it was about 19gb, but now it’s over 100gb when reinstalled. I have tried to install it several times, and in the installer it says that it weighs 34gb, but at the end of the download it occupies more than 100gb. The first time I downloaded it, it said 19gb and at the end of downloading it weighed around 30gb. I don’t understand why it takes up so much disk space, if I’m only downloading the program without assets or extensions. And I don’t want to uninstall epic games because it would delete fortnite and all the games I already have installed. Please someone help me.

It’s your vault…

you can also just cut and paste the vault files to some external disk so you don’t need to download them again if needed.

when you need them just cut and paste them back.

in theory you could change the vault location to an external disk. could work but who knows
