I imported a rig and it fukked my project so hard, after trying to fix it for 6 hours I have accepted that it can never be unfucked.

I imported a rig and it flucked my project so hard, after trying to fix it for 6 hours I have accepted that it can never be unfucked.

Be me
Use default mannequin to make quick gamejam game
Lets just get a quick rig from the fab marketplace because i dont have time for a model right now
Import it
Before even doing anything, all my animations are now T-posing
■■■■■■.jpg
Unreal tells me nothing about what just happened or how to revert it
Imported rig also doesnt work
Delete imported rig.
Ask around the internet, check every blueprint, animations are setup like they are made by aliens that dont know why a video game would have animations in the first place
No obvious errors, everything should work, it just doesnt
This is gonna be my whole day, isnt it? I wanted to get ■■■■ done today.
Say ■■■■ it and delete mannequin + animations
Try importing from a freshly created ThirdPerson Template
in the new project, everything works as you would expect it.
Migrate to my project
All imported files are T posing
How.jpg
After holding back tears like a real adult that has been making games for 10 years, try putting in the template assets step by step.
Make a new AnimationBlueprint from the ground up
Character moves again
HolyShitYes.jpg
But what is that?
The left shoulder is hanging
What.
Google, not hoping to get much
A bunch of people had the same hanging left shoudler problem
Unreals only answer: “Please report this somewhere else oh and also we’ll never explain this ever, get our new engine its only 800 gigabytes per projects”
How can a standard rig be possibly this ■■■■■■ who is responsible I just wanna talk.
At this point my best bet is take the whole project, minus third person controller and migrate it to a fresh template. This is unbelievable
