I have just signed up fr UE 5.2.1 and After trying to install it and deleting some apps because I needed more drive space, I get the message "Not Installed" in the top righthand corner. What to do no?

Hey @MagicGrizzlyB! Welcome to the forums!

Have you tried the triangular dropdown? You should be able to select versions, you may have installed a different version!

There’s also a yellow plus next to “Engine Versions” in the top engine list area, more towards the left. If you press that, you can choose a version to install. (Recommended to install the latest released version, which currently is 5.2.1.)

If you had to delete apps just to install the Epic Launcher, chances are you’ll have a very bad time with the Unreal Engine itself.
It needs at least 200 GB free for the engine and dependencies, plus a small amount of content/projects and work area.
Also, while the engine runs on MacOS, that’s not a great experience, because Apple doesn’t focus on high-performance gaming, and also because there’s no middle mouse button on trackpads.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am a total novice, so thanks for the input. I found the “Launch” yellow tab in the LIBRARY section/tab, and now I need to download something called Xcode from the app store. So here we go. @jwatte do you mean I need to free up 200GB for UE to run effectively on my machine? I am running an 8G MacMini, I assume this is an issue? OR is the requirement for 200GB of storage on an external drive? Feedback appreciated.

200 GB is for the total storage of the engine download, plus the content you create, plus some free assets you might download from the store.
You can tell the launcher where to put the things it downloads in the settings, so an external drive would be fine.

If you have a total of 8 GB in your Mac, though, it’s not going to work. The editor needs more RAM than that, and you typically need almost that much just for video RAM, and the Mac Mini shares video RAM and main RAM in the same bit. 8 GB RAM isn’t enough even to just “take a sniff and see what it’s all about,” unfortunately.

A typical “minimum system to run the editor” is a 32 GB RAM Mac, and you’ll want to add an external GPU if possible (but most Macs don’t even allow you to do that, so they will always be fairly limited compared to Windows/Linux.)
