This seems to be a fairly common issue in UEFN. It looks like UEFN is unable to connect to the session server after matchmaking completes.
I found a post where another user shared a workaround that allowed them to launch the session successfully, so I’d recommend giving that a try.
In case this is helpful for whoever is assigned the task, I’ve figured out a temporary bandaid solution which allows me to launch a session but is in no way an acceptable workaround. Steps to allow you to launch the project:
Open up the Project
Wait for the the “Preparing *” messages in the bottom right of the editor window to complete (see screenshot) Note that this seems to take up to 2 hours to complete for me.

Once completed, Launch Session, and the session works fine.

It could also be caused by a Verse error or an imported mesh generating some kind of conflict, although I didn’t find anything in the posts I reviewed that specifically mentioned those causes.
If that doesn’t resolve the issue, I’d recommend opening a ticket in the Fortnite Issues and Bug Reporting section.
