First thing I would do is put ‘Slimdriver’ on your computer and run it so you can see all your driver’s.
Slimdriver will show you the lasted driver’s for your pc.
If 4.3 is the lasted driver according to Slimdriver, I would recommend to install Windows 10.
I think you can still update it for free and it’s pretty easy.
It may take some time to get used to but I thought windows 7 no longer get any updates so you can better use Windows 10.
ok I still get the message and Nvidia techs have told me that for my video card the version I am running 342.01 is the most current and FINAL LAST upgrade for GeForce 8Series and they will not be making anymore updates for it. although my card is new they are already calling it obsolete. it is wrong for them to do so but they are doing just that.
however I found the underlying issue with my crashing and I will post it on that message.
Thanks for responding I appreciate it. it isn’t a matter of upgrading to win 10 it is a matter of upgrading my new video card with another new video card… go figure that one out (:
you may have just bought that video card but it is a very old model ( almost 10 years old). by comparison its on the level of intel hd which is integrated. the life cycle on computer hardware is in most cases no more than 5 years. i used to have a 750ti and that was an ok card for unreal engine imo, your card is 20 tiers lower based on the chart on toms hardware. Also your card is way below the recommended spec
I wouldnt go with the suggestion to just upgrade to windows 10 though. Windows 10 doesn’t work so well on older or under-powered systems. if your video card is from that generation i would imagine that the rest of your hardware isnt very new either so upgrading to win 10 could make your pc into a potato.
Save up some cash and get a newer video card at the very least. its not really the best market for video cards right now but search around and look into buying used and you could find a good deal. My recommendation is at the very least a 750ti.
If you have to receive a new message to download the new driver in your system then download the best free driver updater software and update your old driver version and also update your broken drivers.
switched to a AMD RX550 that works… oh then later Switched to a AMD RX580… ok that is working good. next (if i ever get a little bit of money… ugh) AMD 7900… drool…
