I do something wrong with the scaling

Hello there,

I am still new to UE and have some issues with the scaling of boxes (or cubes?).
First of all I dont get the differents between creating a asset from the Modeling Mode (the Box) or the Quick Add menu (Shapes → cube).

And second: after I place my box (or cube) I need to change the size of it. But somehow I dont get it the right way, cause everytime the worldgrid deforms too. I just want to change the size of my box but the Material, which I placed on it should just be in the same size…

Hope u get what I mean?

Thanks a lot!

and here with the material on it:

Does somebody can help me with my problem?

I just want to scale my objects without touching the materials, so, that the material will be in it’s original extension without any deformation…

Hi Knigge_Jo,

The difference between the cube and box is that you can change the material scale (UV Scale) with the Box, but not the Cube.

To fix the scale, use the Box Brush Boxes, select one of the surfaces on it, then in the Details Panel, select “All Adjacent Wall Surfacess” in The Geometry “Select” drop down:

And then change the UV scale to what you’re after (probably 1.0,1.0) and hit Apply

Thank you a lot … I dont get to the menus u show here, but the hint “UV Scale” guide me to the “UVs” in the “Modeling Mode” and there with the “Project” tool I figured out to change the material to its origin. I chose “Box” in the Projection Type and 1, 1, 1 in the Dimensions

Thank a lot!
