I converted a MatterPort XYZ file into an E57, but it won't load in RC

I created a E57 based upon the advice on this pagehttps://support.capturingreality.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020653080-How-to-import-any-scan-data-to-RealityCapture-using-CloudCompare-and-Faro-Scene-How-to-create-ordered-point-cloud-from-unordered-

The file appears to go through the process of importing into RC. It takes 15 seconds & says “imported in 15 seconds.” But when that status box closes, there’s no import in RC. This is confirmed by the help window for “Create a 3D Model from Laser Scans.” It doesn’t allow me to proceed to the next page because the file never actually imports. How can I get this fully imported?

I just tried converting to a PTX & importing. Something imports but it’s created 6 LSPs which aren’t representative of the point clouds in any of the previous applications. I think it’s 6 random segments of the whole.

MatterPort provides an OBJ which isn’t good at all as a Digital Twin, so I want to see what can be done with the XYZ & figured RC was the best software to try to fix it & get a cleaned up OBJ from the data? Please point me to any suggestions to get a clean OBJ out of what I have.

Hi,

when you open E57 in CloudCopare, are you able to se TLS/GLB stations? How many of these laser scans positions have you created? What are your import settings? What is the intensity value of your scans?
