I can't seem to download the Unreal Engine standalone installer?

I’ve read other posts on this, but when I go to https://dev.epicgames.com/portal/en-US/ under Unreal Engine > Downloads nothing is there.

I need the offline one because my company won’t let us install it via download, and they won’t use the GIT package.

In order to get this do I need to purchase a user seat for this first, is that why it won’t appear? I saw on another page and wondering if that is why.

They don’t want to let people need Epic Games Launcher, just the Unreal Engine, and any related components to support Unreal Engine, but not install games or other updates online.

We are installing an LED video wall and need Unreal Engine to work with it, but I would think they would let us install the installer to test first before purchasing.

Thanks in advance!

If you’re unable to download the Unreal Engine standalone installer, try these steps:

  1. Use the Epic Games Launcher – Unreal Engine is primarily installed via the Epic Games Launcher, not a standalone installer. Download it from Epic Games.
  2. Check Firewall & Antivirus – Ensure your firewall or antivirus isn’t blocking the download.
  3. Try a Different Browser – Sometimes, browser settings or extensions can interfere with downloads.
  4. Use a VPN – If the download is region-restricted, a VPN might help.
  5. Check Epic Games Server Status – Visit Epic’s Status Page to see if their servers are down.

If issues persist, let me know the exact error message you’re getting!

Unfortunately my IT department won’t allow us to install the Games Launcher, only the unreal engine. I work at a very high-security company and they won’t allow the games launcher to be installed, even through a guided install by IT.

It’s frustrating that the offline installer isn’t readily available. I understand your company’s security concerns, but it’s reasonable to expect a trial or test installation before committing to a purchase. Has anyone reached out to Epic Games support for clarification on accessing the offline installer?"

you said they won’t use git.
but there’s the option of cloning the repo, and then making a standalone build (installed build)
that one can be copied across in a (big) zip file.

i don’t think you need a special download for such license. the engine is the same (afaik) just the license changes.
that means, even if you use a seat based license, you can grab the same engine as the rest. (though i’m not a lawyer so it’s no legal advice).

this is old but it helped me before Building an Installed version of UE4 - Jack Knobel
