I try to migrate a blueprints and levelmap from a UEFN project to unreal engine 5.2, but in unreal engine I don’t see the assets that I have migrated from uefn.
Is there an option that I should activate or am I doing something wrong? i right clicked the asset that i want to migrate, select migrate and then select the content folder of the unreal engine project.
FN and in turn UEFN’s version are ahead of UE 5.2 so this is an expected limitation.
We are endeavoring to improve compatibility however we don’t have a timeline for that support yet.
If you hover over the project name in the upper right you’ll see the ChangeList number.
For UEFN (24.40) I’m currently seeing 25420516
And for 5.2.0 I’m seeing: 25360045
Work is done in ‘Branches’ - For example 5.2 branched off of the Main branch a while ago and was tested/stabilized. Then the fixes would be merged back into Main (or fixed in both branches simultaneously?) .
There are going to be a lot of other considerations for moving UEFN assets to 5.2, but like you said - It’s not possible to open ‘newer’ assets in an older engine version. (And this is based on ChangeList number)
I trie the other day and couldnt migrate some assets FROM 5.2 to UEFN either. They would show in Windows folder, but I couldnt get them to show in the UEFN browser.
I had this same issue, ended up having to install Unreal 5.1.1 and migrate my assets from there. After doing this they work and show up correctly in the content browser.
