I can't freely move my cinematic camera while playing my sequence

I can’t freely move my cinematic camera while playing my sequence
What am I missing here?

As you can see, the camera can’t be animated while playing the Sequence.
For some odd reason, the camera jumps back to a specific place.
I know I am missing something here, but what is it?

Is your camera in your sequence? If so, it’s going to evaluate it’s position as you play the sequence forward.

yes, my camera is in the sequence.
Should it not be there?

But I want to set animation keys of course… so the cam should be in the sequencer.
I swear it worked before… not sure what I am missing here.

As soon as the time in Sequencer changes, an evaluation will happen. That means whatever actual data/keyframes/curves you have, will be evaluated. Sounds like you’re temporary change to the camera is getting lost when you change time (which is the correct/normal behavior) So your options are:

  • Adjust/move the camera, set a keyframe (this stamps down your temporary change to the camera), then change time
  • Enable autokey so that when you adjust/move the camera, a key will automatically be set.
