I cant add character for animation

I am not able to add a character for animation as it keeps saying i have no project selected.
I went into the options and made sure its pointed in the right place and it is.
I am using A.R.T verion 1
Maya 2016 Extension 1 service pack 6

Is there a way to fix this?

And this is the error code i keep getting
