Im having some difficulty downloading the UE4. I purchased a subscription earlier this morning, and my account is currently listed as active, but when I go to download the file I end up with an error message: “Firefox can’t find the server at launcher-service-prod06.ol.epicgames.com.” I have internet access and can reach any other site. I have tried internet explorer as well as firefox with similar results. I have access to the rest of the Unreal Engine site as well as the other support sites (gethub, answerhub, etc…). Does this sound like a temporary issue on Epic’s end, or does this sound like something on my end (firewall issues, network issues, etc…)? Any help would be greatly appriciated!
Well I have no clue why, but after mashing the download button hysterically it downloaded the installer. The installer appears to be working perfectly (UE4 is downloading as I type this). If you end up with a similar issue, the only cause I could think of was that the server was overloaded. Just wait a little while and try again and hopefully it will work.
I’m glad this resolved for you.
I will have to remember “mashing the download button hysterically” as a viable troubleshooting option.
It is happening to me still.
Are you receiving the exact error message that PDG1 pictured above? Also, which web browser are you using?
We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so we are marking this post as resolved for tracking purposes. If you’re still experiencing this issue, please feel free to post back here with additional information I requested above.
