I just saw it in my emails. My account was suspended for a month because of one of my icon models.
1- First of all, my camera icon model doesn’t violate copyright. It looks like the YouTube icon, but it’s different.
2- My appeal page won’t open, so I’m writing here.
3- If this is a copyright-violating model, wouldn’t it be more logical to delete the model instead of suspending the account?
This model caused my account to be suspended for 1 month.
My appeal page won’t open. That’s why I want to appeal here. This model doesn’t constitute copyright infringement. It’s also published on other sites. If it were a copyright infringement, it would be removed from those sites as well.
Thanks.
I really can’t believe it. How many days have passed and my account still hasn’t been opened. None of my models are for sale.
My sanction was lifted, but no one is opening my account.
Really sorry to hear this happened. I’ve been keeping an eye on some other similar topics and I’m a bit surprised at the whole situation.
For, what seems like a small team keeping on top of the marketplace, the actions against people’s accounts feel very heavy-handed in the measures they take (automated, or not).
In longevity of the store, wouldn’t it make sense to have each case manually reviewed before placing such dire sanctions? A one month sanction—without confirmation or review…?
There needs to be a lot more done, with more protection and care for the sellers. All these stores: SketchFab, Unreal Marketplace, (and perhaps, Artstation, as initially proposed?) were to be merged, so that’s consolidating 2-3 (previously) potential sources of income for the seller into one site. If you’re taking down 3 sources of income, from someone who might be living on this, without question, then they could be in trouble (bills, rent, food, etc).
What constitutes a sanction in the first place?
Was there a copyright complaint, such as a DMCA?
Is there an in-built reverse-image search that flagged this?
Can other users, or non-users, simply report a listing and ‘poof’ seller, and their income, gone, all without inspection?
Scary. What’s the future for Fab? I’m already getting Emails saying “I love your portfolio I found on FAB / Artstation, and was wondering if…” I could imagine scammers leveraging what’s possibly an automated sanction—beginning to threaten us with mass-reports if we don’t pay them.
What’s currently being done, or planned to be implemented, to protect sellers?
Not my thread, but some insight and clarity would likely be well-received by the community, Support / Epic / FAB Team.
This message was written without prejudice, as a highly concerned seller, myself.
Hi. My problem has been resolved. My models were unfairly removed from sale for a week. However, according to the contract, they were justified.
(I wrote down the steps in case someone reads it.)
