I Assistant plugin asks to verify I am human (Cloudflare Turnstile) on every launch

Hello,

Description:
The AI Assistant plugin in the editor keeps asking me to prove I am human every time I open it. The verification never gets remembered, even after I complete it.

Engine version: [5.x.x] (Launcher build)
Operating system: Windows [10/11]

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the AI Assistant in the Unreal Editor.
  2. Complete the human verification.
  3. Close and reopen the assistant: the verification appears again.

Expected result: the verification is remembered and the assistant opens normally.
Actual result: the verification is requested again every time, and the assistant stays unavailable.

Output Log (filtered on LogAIAssistant):

  • “Blocked script execution in ‘about:blank’ because the document’s frame is sandboxed and the ‘allow-scripts’ permission is not set.”
  • “Refused to connect to ‘data:’ because it violates the document’s Content Security Policy.”
  • “Assistant not available, resetting…”
  • “[Cloudflare Turnstile] Unhandled promise rejection”

Screenshots of the log are attached. The same assistant is usable in my web browser on the Epic Developer Community site.

Hi @merlyna59

Looks like the AI Assistant panel is getting tripped up by sandbox permissions and Content Security Policy (CSP) errors (like Blocked script execution in “about:blank” because the document’s frame is sandboxed and the “allow-scripts” permission is not set) right as Cloudflare Turnstile tries to load its validation frame.
Since the embedded browser frame lacks the proper script execution permissions to remember the session token or cookies, it loops right back to asking you to prove you’re human every single time.

Could you share a couple of quick details to help me narrow this down?

  • Are you running a custom engine build or are you on the standard Epic Games Launcher binary release of Unreal Engine 5?

  • Do you happen to have any third-party antivirus, network proxies or browser security extensions running that might be intercepting local web view frames inside the editor?

While we look into that, here is something I would try to see if we can get it to stick

  1. Log out and back into the Epic Games Launcher
Sometimes the cached authorization token for services linked to your Epic account gets stale inside the editor embedded WebRTC/WebBrowser components.
Shut down Unreal Engine entirely, log out of the Epic Games Launcher, log back in, and then relaunch your project.

  2. Clear the WebBrowser Cache
You can try clearing the local web cache data where Unreal stores session states. Navigate to your project directory or your engine local app data folder and clear out the web cache folders (typically found under “Saved/WebCache” or “Saved/Config”)

  3. Use the Web Version as a Bridge
Since you mentioned the assistant works fine in your external web browser, try logging into your Epic Developer Community account in your default system browser and completing any pending cloudflare challenges there first then restart the editor.

Let me know how those steps treat you
