I’m going to preface this whole thing with the fact that I am brand new to Unreal 5, my comfort zone is blender environment modelling. I only have a very loose understanding of what I’m doing with blueprints, the closest thing I have to compare is geometry nodes from Blender.
I have watched a good couple of hours of YouTube tutorials trying to copy. and from what I’ve noticed the Unreal 4 tutorials, are the only tutorials I was able to find on seamless portals.(no unreal 5 tutorials from what I found) don’t translate entirely.
Unreal 5 seamless portal WIP 1 - YouTube I have attached a video that shows all of my work so far. In the second half of the video after showing the blueprints I switch over to the main viewport for some reason if I play it through one of the portals I don’t encounter what I would refer to as wobbliness or that screen artifacting at least not as much. I have no idea what is making the difference there and why it matters. The second thing you may notice is the discoloration of the environment through the portal, this seems to be a lighting inconsistency. And then the nice fun part. the rotation of the portal is causing the portal to intersect with its projection. what’s happening here is the camera is not rotating to compensate, I was trying to fix this but the tutorials I was watching (unreal 4 tutorials) weren’t translating this part at all, in fact, just made some new fun bugs which brought me here.
