I primarily use Blender or Cinema 4D. For a new project, I am forming a team to create characters in these 3D programs and then use Unreal Engine for live rendering or final rendering. The team consists of a character animator, an Unreal level designer, and a post-production supervisor. We plan to use motion capture for character animation.
I am curious about the best workflow for this type of project. The character workflow I am considering is as follows:
- Create the characters in external programs, then integrate them with the Unreal rigging process, and finalize the animation in Unreal.
- Work on the camera and character animation in external programs, then import them into Unreal.
I am wondering which workflow is more efficient and closer to the correct approach. I always appreciate the help from the community.
