I am trying to build a telltale style narrative game where the camera is in first person but the movement is fixed. What would be the best way of building that? I’m leaning towards using sequences but would like some advise before I go too far down that road

(New here so sorry if this is a stupid question or the wrong place to put this)

Hey @Benthebestest! Welcome to the forums!

I’m not sure what it is you’re asking though, with the movement. Do you want the character to automatically move everywhere in all cases? No actual moving with a stick or keys? If that’s the case… Yeah sequences would probably be best! In fact, I’d say most of your development time would be working with sequences that run in between the choices!

Exactly. In a sequence, would I still be able to have a UI so that the user can make decisions that choose what the next sequence will be?

You can, you’ll have to pause the sequence to give time for the player to answer.

Check this video out, it’s part of an adventure game series (like telltale) so it should touch on a LOT of what you’re looking to do!
