So i downloaded ue4 about a week ago and have pretty much spent all my free time since then trying to learn how to use it. I have no knowledge whatsoever on game development and am really struggling on grasping the blueprints at all. Every tutorial explaining how to set up nodes for certain things fails to explain why im doing what and how to select a certain node. For example, in the finishing up section of setting up character movement tutorial on ue4 docs it show you a picture of the BP graph but i can’t get one node to look the same as they are in that picture. The add movment input and get forward/right vector nodes look completely different and the nodes are not compatible with each other. And about 99.9% of every other tutorial out there does the exact same thing and i am starting to get extremely frustrated. All i want is an in depth guide to blueprints thats not from ue4 docs because i can’t seem to grasp a word of it. PLEASE help!!!
you check the UE4 youtube tutorials?
Carl Breeden - YouTube Check out my Youtube channel. It should help to get your started.
I started watchin the videos last night and they helped way more than the written tutorials for me. Half the problem was i was just getting way to frustrated and needed a break, but im starting to finally get enough of a hold on blueprint to actually understand how to at least copy out a string of script. Ill definately check out your videos too dragonmaster there seems to be a lot of things that ive been looking for and more thank you very much!
not a problem Crockett. I do take requests to but I am not an expert by far but I do like to toy with things and figure new things out…
