I am hoping someone can help me out here, I am getting artifacts in shadows using Path Tracer in 2022 TwinMotion, i am running Windows 10, with a RTX A5000 and 128gb ram, i have tried using built in materials and nothing I do helps any clues?

Hello ,

Thank you for posting in the community and for providing the rendering example to see the issue at hand. This behavior is strange and could be caused by a material setting, UV issue or some other rendering setting but would need to take a look at the scene to better understand what is causing this. Would you be able to report a bug and upload your TM file so we can best investigate this: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/case-community-page

Kind regards,

Vincent B.

Thanks Vincent, I just figured it out! It was the rotation value of the object, all the objects exhibiting this behavior had a Negative rotation value of like <0,0,-9.3>, so in blender I had to select the bad objects and Apply Rotation to zero everything out to <0,0,0> then it was fine, very odd, i can only assume that the negative value was some how breaking the path trace algorithm? just a guess, but hopefully someone in the future comes across this issue they will see this response! In blender select your object and hit (Ctrl+A) and Apply rotation on any object that has negative rotation values, then export as FBX like normal.

Thank you for the follow-up and glad you found out the cause of this and how to resolve it.
