HI,
I am building pc with ryzen 5 5600 paired with rtx 3050. For unreal engine as I previously I was working on unity an now I want to switch to unreal kindly guide me upon my pc build.
what full specs you will be having, as for me this processor and video card seems old.
Ryzen 5600
rtx 3050 8gb
ram 16 gb 3200 mhz
512 gb m. 2
biostark b550 motherboard
psu kratos 600watts
You need more Vespene gas!
For unreal that critical resource is VRAM on graphics card.
Now if you do not plan on using things that require CUDA you may go for AMD.
Things that like to have CUDA: (fur shaders, physics, global illumination- lumen)
But for most indie games those are “Luxury Gimmics”.
But seriously buy card with more ram. I got 2080TI in 2019, (before “unknown disease of unknown origin”) it has 11GB and sometimes unreal cry for more.
So unless you plan of developing only mobile games on unreal (which is terrible idea) you need more Vespene gas.
Ryzen 7 , 16 gb ram , RTX 3050 4GB , 500GB SSD are more than sufficient to Run UN 5.2.
Since how long are you using unity and made any projects in it?
Actually I am unity game dev and now I want to try unreal so I am just starting.
rtx 3050 have nearly 2600 cuda cores so should I go for it?
You need VRAM in card. Yes with low ram you can code, develop tiny levels, etc, so you can be unreal indie dev.
Without 8+ GB forget about big textures, lamdmass, level streaming.
3050 has 8gb, and as I want to develop UE games for android so it will be sufficient.
For android try GODOT. That is much better if you want to make android games, not starting professional career (ie. making games for somebody else).
Ios and android have 120mb limit for app size (maybe it is bit higher now). At with unreal it is almost impossible to make game that fits in 120mb, so as dev you are forced to make downloader and host actual game elsewhere.
And yes that card should be ok for mobile games.

Welcome to the Unreal Engine Forums and Community! I know how exciting building a new rig. I actually built one myself last year for my own personal use(Gaming, Unreal Engine, etc)! In regards to the specs, there are a lot of good recommendations that have replied to you. I wanted to drop a link to the Unreal Engine 5 Hardware & Software System Requirements to ensure you have all of the up to date information. There’s also a link on that page highlighted in yellow with Rendering Requirements for Nanite and Lumen that may also interest you. I hope that this is helpful and good luck with the build!
