The Account profile screen asks for a Government ID, and according to a list of valid IDs, my 13-digit South African ID should work. The company is incorporated in the US with a US address and tax residency, but I do not currently reside in the US. Why won’t it accept my ID?

I also have a problem activating my Hyperwallet account because my official ID card is not accepted. I contacted Hyperwallet support, who directed me to contact Epic Games support, who then directed me back to Hyperwallet support. Player Support then advised me to contact developer support at dev.epicgames.com/community/epic-games-store.
It seems, to say the least, that Epic Games’ customer support is going in circles and no one really knows who is actually responsible for handling these support issues.
