This may be quite useful for beginner devs
I do not know how good these books are, so if anyone could give a review, it’d be appreciated.
90% of Packt books aren’t worth the paper they’re not printed on.
Check the reviews on Amazon.
But for that price I guess it is enough if each book contains something useful.
Thanks for the info, I wouldn’t know otherwise.
Sad to hear, but thanks for the warnings!
No, no to books.
It’s a shame, because credit to the authors, one or two of them are quite good - but Packt are all about putting out as much redundant material out there as possible and care little for the quality of what they publish (I don’t believe they even properly proof-read it). They currently have 28 (yes twenty-eight!) products covering Unreal listed on their website.
Books have the disadvantage that they get outdated pretty fast.
You’re better off with Google+StackOverflow+UE Forums+Discord
Maybe they are useful if you’re offline for awhile and away from a computer. It happens.
Looks like a good pack of books. I can speak in behalf of some books that I have already tried…they are great IMHO and despite they can be obsolete in a short time, they can be a good reference. You have to make progress fast because maybe in the next release of the engine some things change or improve and you won’t be able to follow (it has happened to me before).
Unity has been giving away lots of FREE ebook content that can be hidden if you don’t know where or what to look for.
