I think if I purchase I will get keys to be able to redeem on Fab. Have I understood correctly?
Also, it looks like they are Professional licence keys but I am only Personal user (hobbyist). Will I be able to use professional keys for personal use?
It is basically new online marketplace, giving huge bundle trough Humbe Bundle to advertise new shop.
So you buy it, then you log in to that other shop. In that shop you redeem your humble bundle code.
This unlocks all packs on that other shop page. Now copy/paste madness starts.
You get key from that page, you copy paste it to epic fab.page , redeem code. Pack gets addeed to your fab account.
Total madness with all serial codes.
So i made some special procedure to not skip packs:
copy pasted them all from that shop to text file, grouped by 4. Because shop groups 4 in single line.
when i had all serials in text, i copy pasted them 4 by 4 into fab.com
And double checked all packs, you can sort fab irtems, by time you bought them/added, so should be same order in both shops.
And then i had like 8 packs missing in epic fail shop (fab.com).
So i made some support reports. And that is how i know it is epic fail.
However fab.com did not show those missing packs while they were in my old marketplace library.
Yes lots of copy paste, checking etc. But most packs are good quality.
And about personal use vs professional use. All professional licenses also include personal. So no worries there.
Arghh. I went ahead and bought the bundle. The instructions to redeem seem straight forward, at least for the vast majority of the bundle (the bits I am most interested in). It doesn’t look like it requires lots of individual key use, but a single key for all the Unreal environments, animations, etc to use in one place via Epic Launcher.
But …
Issue is that Humble provides a 16 character key and it look like Epic expects a 20 character key. Epic/Fab support say the are not affiliated with Humble and just follow the redemption instructions (which I have tried). Humble support has average 9 working day response time so waiting to hear from them. Thought I’d try here. Anyone any ideas?
Ah ha! After reaching out to publisher Leartes, Humble appear to have updated their instructions to redeem.
It does indeed work as indicated by the earlier response to this thread by @Nawrot; go to Cosmos to redeem the supplied key, this in turn adds all the packs to your Cosmos inventory (have to sign up to Cosmos first), then you can generate individual Fab keys.
Yes i did just that, was some wtf moment (a bit too many hoops to get it).
But i got all my packs on fab.
My problem is that Fab.com (Website) did not add packs.
Well more like did not list them as added to my epic marketplace.
But they were added to marketplace just not listed on fab.
I’ve just asked for a refund - I’m not interested in signing up with cosmos and there was nothing to indicate that was needed when purchasing. No more learties support from me when they do unhanded things like that
