HTML5 Demos

Do you have some hints to improve graphics when compiling HTML5 game ?
For now I can compile my projects without any problems but graphics are bad (very pixelated compared to your demos).

Thank you for your help.

,

I would suggest checking your project out in Mobile Previewer before packaging and launching it onto HTML5. It will show you what your project will look like in HTML5 setting. Also, since the rendering for HTML5 is quite similar to the mobile rendering, I would suggest looking over the Mobile Game Development information as well to obtain some tips on rendering.

Good luck!

This has really inspired me, especially katanec’s!
Now I will be using UE for HTML5 games instead of Construct 2

Thanks Pootis, I’m curently working on the third level

Hi Everyone, thanks for sharing various demos for HTML5. I am new here and these demos will help me a lot.

Well i’m new to unreal engine and i started a really small 2d game basicly you must avoid hitting the blocks don’t expect anything fancy it’s just the first vevrsion, i don’t even have a domain name for the server where i putted it, here is the ip: http://104.45.95.90/, i’m probably going to improve it, i haven’t found any game as dynamic as i want mine to be on the play store so i guess i’il keep working on it whenever i find time and make it available on the play store and also make an html5 version.

ps: If you try my game try it with firefox it’s not really smooth with chrome (sadly)

Urm, I think I need a lot of help… I followed the only documentation available and successfully packaged the project for HTML5 but I don’t know what to do now!?! I have a lot of files and I don’t know how to test if it worked or how to host it… With Unity Web Player I host it using , is that possible with HTML5?

since you made your game with unreal engine i don’t think you will be able to use unity web player, and no i don’t think you can host it with , maybe someone has more information than me. I guess any web server will do thge trick, Personnaly since i had a windows server available i used a iis server i already explained how i did it at the end of this post: How to make my html5 game accessible online - Platform & Builds - Epic Developer Community Forums . But i’m sure they are better way to do it.

Yess, I knew Unity’s web player is only for Unity projects however just thought it might be the similar to host them, obviously not.

I Found that itch.io, a site I have some of my other games on also lets you host HTML 5 games on their which is really handy! I find it did not work if the files were compressed but after I uncompressed them and fixed the references like mentioned in the thread in the link you gave me it worked fine, well sort of. Only problem is it wont change levels so its stuck in the menu, is that because you cant load levels in html? or something else?

There is some other minor things to sort out too like textures not loading and so fourth.

Thanks For your help

Hi! Did you manage to make your game work in itch.io? I’m trying to put my game on this site. I uncompressed the files, change the reference to the .gz files, rename the .html file to index.html like it’s told in this link https://itch.io/docs/creators/html5 , made a .ZIP archive with everything in it and uploaded the whole thing to itch.io, but when I go to the specific game page, the game simply won’t load when I’m using Chrome, and it load but then I get a script error when using Internet Explorer.
