HTF does one install plugins now???

This is something that used to be simple, now enshittification seems to have set in?

Err… go to unreal project Fab, FAB button I think pulls webpages.
Search for plugin..Find it then I can ‘View in Launcher’ or ‘View in Library’. If I choose View in Library, then another webpage, with my stuff.
Then I search the library, ( oh great, it’s not alphabetical, that’s handy (not)) …there, there is a plugin.

There’s a little tiny something, and I click it; something seems to download…somewhere.

Now what? I know Unreal 5.6 can support 6 billion whatevers but this FAB thing is a massive leap into crappy design. Plus, I’m not interested in Unity Assets, thanks ‘FAB’
Plus I used to like the reviews on the old thing, and the fact you could contact the developers.

Look in plugins; I can’t see the new plugin. Now what?

From my experience:

  1. Open the FAB marketplace
  2. Search for the plugin i need
  3. Press open in Launcher (Epic Game)
  4. Search the same name there again in my library (after refreshing it)
  5. Install the plugin

I had actually no issue, its just a little unhandy with all these searches :grimacing:

ok thank you.
My problem is that I can’t find the plugin in the installed plugins list or Engine Plugins Directory - but Launcher seems to think it’s installed for engine version. Used to be plugins were in the Plugins/Marketplace now seems random
