HTC VIVE and Laptop GTX 980 ?

Hello !

I have a question about this new Laptop wich have a 980 GTX. I wonder if we have the same performances as a normal destkop with a GTX 980 for the VR and moreover with the HTC VIVE ?

Let’s not forget that a laptop with a GTX 980 is not the same thing as a laptop with a GTX 980M.

A GTX980 is a GTX980, there are minor differences between brands, but it is what it is.

When crammed into a laptop though, you may find performance suffers due to hardware bottlenecks elsewhere. I’d personally be very worried about overheating - the card may be throttled in the bios for that very reason.
