HP Laptops running Ryzen AI HX PRO 375 So Good in UE5

Hi, I don’t usually write things like this but I thought it might be helpful for someone else. I wanted a small laptop that was easy to transport, so I bought an Elitebook 14, I was so impressed I thought what would happen if I tried UE5 I assumed it would be awful how wrong was I.

I’ve now been using this for 6 months and its been great I primarily create for console / handheld and its perfect because it runs UE5 so well.

Pros:-

My Threadripper giant rig builds UE5.6.1 from source in 22 minutes this little laptop does it in 1 hour 4 mins, but thats still so impressive and I don’t build the engine that often.

I have 64gb of 8000 mt/s memory and i’ve allocated 8Gb to the iGPU Radeon 890M, I set the editor to 30fps and thats my setup, its so good for detecting slow downs in my design, previously I would build on my high spec rig and then test on lower specs but now I do it as I go along I grab builds frequently on to this little laptop and test and address issues, its been stable and totally useable for 6 months.

I use it on battery for hours and its silent no roaring fans, sometimes the fans ramp up but even then its like a big rig in eco mode.

Cons:-

Lets be sensible its a small screen and its not going to replace a high spec setup but I use this 50 percent of the time, and never get frustrated.

Anyway I’ve been so impressed I thought id share my experience.

Update on this, I’m so impressed I’ve bought the 395 Pro Max model with 8060s graphics and 128GB ram which ive allocated 32GB to the video card. Compiles 5.6.1 source in 39.5 minutes that’s set to use 31 threads, all this in a 14 inch thin ZBook HP, where will it end bye bye $4k threadripper!
