How would I make a sprint input action?

hey! I have been working with UE 4, and I recently got into Inputs. I was messing around with actions and noticed Shift checkbox. When I created a sprint action, I put in key for W and checked shift, but when I created a BP for it and tested it BP would only work if I pressed W and Shift at exact same time. Now, what I am wondering is if there is a way to have an input that can use any key and just needs shift?

In your player controller class you can check if Shift key is pressed using a node called Is Input Key Down. Otherwise you can check my Sprint Blueprint setup here where MonsOlympus also posted another Sprint setup. Hope it helps. :slight_smile:

Thanks! That did help, although I am using same system they used for movement keys to go forward, to get vector and rotation, but it seems to just force player to right! Do you know how to fix this?

Nvm I figured it out, thanks for help though!

It seems that sprint speed always goes same speed as player’s normal speed, no matter what I put value as. Do you know why this is?

Are you changing ground speed? Can you post your BP setup?
