How will my asset library function after Fab?

Hi there,

just wanted to know what exactly will happen with current asset library content?

As an example, I understand creators need to migrate their packs to Fab - but what about discontinued or dead packs that I still use?

A great example is the Ancient Ruins pack from WAAAAAY back that’s since been discontinued and hasn’t been updated for a very long time.

The assets are still great and useable but I’m concerned that I need to back up the most up-to-date version on my hard drive incase after the Fab migration I will no longer be able to download it, due to the creator not porting the pack to Fab. As far as I know, it’s not even purchasable on marketplace anymore due to discontinuation (but thankfully I can still download it.)

Thanks in advance!

I saw this

and

Still not clear. “through the Unreal Engine Vault” only works if the assets have already been downloaded. However, for those purchased but not yet downloaded, they don’t go into the vault.

“through the Unreal Engine Vault” is referring to the Epic Games Launcher Vault (Launcher > Library > Vault) and whether the assets have been downloaded or not is completely irrelevant.

Any assets purchased do go into the Vault whether they were downloaded or not. Assets purchased but not yet downloaded might be removed from your Vault only when they are officially removed from Epic’s servers, if copyright issues were discovered later after a report or a claim for example.
