How to use Verse tags?

FindCreativeObjectsWithTag() and all of its overloads have been deprecated.

‘(/Fortnite.com/Devices:)GetCreativeObjectsWithTag’ is deprecated: Use FindCreativeObjectsWithTag instead.

In the past we could write something like this:

my_tag := class(tag){}

TaggedActors := FindCreativeObjectsWithTag(my_tag{})

To find creative objects, the new documentation shows that we now need to write a function like this:

FindCreativeObjectsWithTagExample1(InDevice:creative_device):void =
TaggedObjects := InDevice.FindCreativeObjectsWithTag(mytag)

What is InDevice? Is it a reference to Self? Is there a self keyword? The documentation shows no examples of how this function is actually used.

I don’t understand how to modify existing code to update the deprecations, and the Tagged Lights example found here still shows the deprecated method of finding tags. The verselang book doesn’t contain anything that helps either.

I would appreciate if anyone could help steer me in the right direction.

Thank you.

The change just makes it so you just hand over the subtype of the tag class instead of having to instance it, it should be a pretty simple change, just remove the {} of the tag

So just replace this

TaggedActors := FindCreativeObjectsWithTag(my_tag{})

with this

TaggedActors := FindCreativeObjectsWithTag(my_tag)

Thank you @Mineblo, I missed that detail. I’m going to try it out later and see how it works out. I’ll come back and mark your post as the solution if it works. Thanks again!
