How to use "copy collision from selected static mesh"?

Hello,
I have 2 questions about collision:

1- I would like to set custom collision from another static mesh using “copy collision from selected static mesh” property, but it appears to be greyed, does anyone know how to enable it please? (see screenshot)

2 - How can I set the “collision complexity” “project default” to be “use complex collision as simple” please? (I know it doesn’t seem to be recommended, but i would like to test it out, limit collision on a certain radius etc…). It’s probably in an ini file, but it doesn’t seem to be documented!

Thanks in advance!

I can only answer the first question, has I was looking for this very same topic. You open your receiver mesh by double clicking it in the content Browser, then select the donor mesh in the content browser(single click), go back to the editor window of your recipient mesh and then the option to copy the collision from the object selected in the content browser will be available.

Thanks, I figured it out too meanwhile! I just also completly forgot I posted this thread!

However, it doesn’t work with all meshes shapes unfortunately

I didn’t had the time to do some testing, but I think the meshes needs to be closed, like simple collisions (for example, walls made with planes can’t be used as collision if copied from another static mesh).

it would be nice to be able to use another static mesh as complex collision!

I put it as resolved, even if it’s half resolved, as it might help other people!

Many many thanks. This it exactly what I was looking for!

Thank you! That’s a huge help
