How to use Animation pack for UE5 in UE5?

I am new to UE5. I purchased free animation pack for UE5. I just want to learn UE5 and use UE5 ready products. I am not sure that I am sounding ok. I am so confused because people always talk about UE4. Do I have to learn UE4 animation to learn UE5 animation? Thank you.

Hey @ShinjiKay!

You might not necessarily need to know UE4 animation techniques for UE5 depending on what you are doing, but they are good to know and are often essential if you are using any legacy animations.

Check out these docs on animation provided by Unreal:

o/ You can freely use any UE5 compatible asset pack in UE5 - just check what version asset in marketplace is updated to.
No you do not have to go back to UE4 as mandatory. UE5 is more of an extension of UE4, where only some parts of engine were updated/new features added. Animation wasn’t changed substantially. So it might be that some older UE4 tutorials will still apply to UE5.
Dev Learning library have plenty UE5 animations tutorials.

Thank you very much. I will take a look at it. Thank you again for your kindness!

Thank you very much! I will take a look at Dev learning. I am glad to know I don’t have to go back to UE4. Thank you.

Could you tell me the workflow to animate a metahuman, using some animation pack made for UE5? How do you apply animation on a metahuman from animation pack in general? You don’t need to tell me the detail. What do you try to do at the beginning. I already have a metahuman I made from Mesh in UE5. I just want to apply animation. Thank you.
