How to update objects in scene when that object has been updated in the user library?

I fullfilled a three floors mall-bookshop with 40 copies or more of a shelve, placed one by one, after adding it to my user library.

From now I'll try to explain everything so clear but you may want to see the attached image to better understanding.

Once I placed all these 40 copies I decided to work a little bit more on the original shelve (adding section signs) and then obviously I wanted to update the 40 copies of it in the scene.

I loaded the updated model and clikced the refresh button, like I always do with common objects, but this time it didn't update a thing. I suposed because of being an object from my user library.

So I loaded it into the user library, having this way both versions of the model, the second one being named by TM with "_1" at the end.

I closed TM and deleted the initial version in my windows folder, removing also the "_1" of the new version, so when I open TM again, the main version in my user library had been updated and the "_1" version dissapeared. Till here everything is fine.

Problem is that all those 40 copies of the shelves spread all over the scene continue to be the first version and I find no buttom to update them... how can I do?

Notice that if I go to the icon in the user library it obviously loads the new version.

I hope hadn't been so tricky.

Thanks!

Hi ,

The proper way to instances of copies of objects like that would be to sue the Replace object tool. There's a quick video demonstration of this here.

User Library objects function uniquely, since they are saved copies of a Twinmotion assets or containers. If you update the User Library file, it won't affect any existing instances of that file in your project. This is so you don't accidentally overwrite assets across all of your files when you make changes.

Thanks for the info, Raghib, I got it now!
