How to switch between 2d and 3d camera view.

Hi,

I want to make a mechanic where when the player walks a certain area, the camera view switches from 2d to 3d.

An example of this would be Nier Automata, how when playing it is 3d however the view switches to a 2d platformer type game when you enter certain areas,
for example:


11:37 onwards, how the camera switches to 2d from 3d/third person.

I think trigger volumes will be used, but I am not quite sure. I couldn’t find anything online so any help would be much appreciated.
