How to stop spline mesh from stretching

I’m currently following Zack Parrish’s tutorial on creating a racetrack using splines. I noticed that the road and guardrails get stretched out between the splines. This looks very ugly and unnatural. Is there a way to fix this?

I’ve tried using Dokipen’s tutorial on splines that results in nicely tiled road sections, but I can’t this method to work like Zack’s with the toggle-able roll and scale options within an array.
