How to stop components from automatically attaching to other components

While doing environment design, I build props in an actor so I can easily place and scale them in my level. When adding a component from the content browser, it automatically attached to the last component I placed, which means I have to unattach each component after I drag it in. Is there a way to stop this from happening and default to attaching to the base scene component? I’ve looked in editor preferences and couldn’t find anything, but I’m sure there has to be an easy way to do this.

Are you dragging them into the world outliner, or the level?
