How to snap mesh between sockets?,How to snap mesh between sockets?

I have a third person character with two sockets on his skeletal mesh, one on his back and one on his hand. he also have an idle animation and a aim animation. when i pickup up a shotgun it snaps to the back/holster socket. this i can do.

When i press the aim command and the aim animation fires i want the shotgun to snap from the back/holster socket to the hand socket and then when you release the aim button and he goes back to idle i want the shotgun to snap back to the holster socket. i cannot get this to work, I’ve tried to detach but it goes to ground

how can you reference the sockets on the player mesh and “send” an already attached mesh between them?,

I would just use the AttachToComponent Node, in this example i am swapping a mesh from the hand to the head

Oh snap! i completely forgot about the “pressed” “released” actions on the input events, i was trying to use the aim state as a bool, “isAiming” and “notAiming”, to swap the mesh.and my “still developing” knowledge on BP’s is failing me! LOL
