How to smooth mesh

I’m trying to make this Handle in ue5, but as you can see, the edges are way too visible and it looks low poly because I used extrusion to bend this handle, but I want to smooth it out, and I went to the sculpt options but couldn’t find anything

Hi Eren,

If you ‘Reset Hard Normals’ do you see any difference?

If not, try experimenting with the ‘Nrmls’ and ‘Tngents’ regeneration settings.

You can set the model’s shading to smooth in Blender.

yea true but I never correctly imported from blender to ue, the measurements and sizes are always messed up, i’m not yet comfortable with exporting, but can i get help on how to export with correct sizes?

Thank you so much Astrotronic.
But that partly fixed my problem, it smoothed it, but not much much.
is there a setting to smooth it more ?

For blender workflow: You can set the scale in blender to CM (1 Unreal Unit == 1cm), or scale it on import.

Glad to hear it helped, but I’m not sure about how to get additional smoothing. Maybe more geometry/segments is required. For googling vocabulary: What we’re working with is ‘smoothing groups’ (But since the modeling tools are new, you’ll find most info about Maya/Blender)

exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

just in case if you’re a beginner, don’t waste time trying to model in unreal like i did lol, use blender. now i consider myself an intermediate designer :')
